Singapore – Last day and the rest of the Merlion family

On our final full day in Singapore we had planned to go to a Mexican restaurant at Clarke Quay for lunch but after a long hot walk there, we discovered it wasn’t open so crossed the river and went to a place called Hot Stones. Here you order whatever meat you would like and they bring it out raw, along with a very hot flat stone, and you cook the food yourself. Quite a cool way to do it although I chose pork and I seemed to wait forever before it was ready – I think Mo’s choice of salmon was better.

After that we took a walk out to Marina Bay again, this time so I could have a look round the section of the Formula 1 track that isn’t made up of the city streets. It was probably the hottest and most humid day we’d had so I left Mo in a pub about half way there with a cold drink and headed up myself. I won’t bore the non-car fanatics with all the details and photos, but any fellow F1 geeks can read about it here. It did give me a good view of the Singapore Flyer and the Marina Botanic Gardens

I then rejoined Mo and we headed over the bridge to have a close up look at the other 2 members of the Merlion family (Mrs and Wee One)

To end the day we took a stroll along the river looking at some of the statues before stopping back at Boat Quay for some food and a view drinks. We grabbed a table by the river and watched the sun go down
